Pollinators
Georgeson Botanical Garden Pollinator Activity
The GBG Pollinator Activity is an educational activity geared towards visitors of all ages. FSWCD designed and sponsored 10 pollinator activity signs that were installed at the Georgeson Botanical Garden in Summer 2021. These signs display beautiful illustrations of local pollinators to help guests learn more about pollinator identification, habitat, and behavior. See if you can find all the signs at Georgeson Botanical Garden!
The first illustration is a Canadian Tiger Swallowtail, scientific name Papilio canadensis. These butterflies are Fairbanks' most common swallowtail - they can be found sipping nectar from crab apple trees, lilac bushes, and other flowering plants.
All artwork is illustrated by Renee Nowicki.
